Unjournal 2024-25 Evaluator Prize Nominations; inviting feedback
The Unjournal commissions expert public evaluation of research with potential for global impact. We recognize and reward the most useful, insightful, and credible evaluation work, including through our “Evaluator Prize”. Our 2024-25 winners will share $6600 in prizes, and (where they are not anonymous) will be invited to present and discuss their evaluation work and their own research and practice.
Our management team and advisory board will vote and make the final decisions on the winners soon, taking into account feedback from researchers, stakeholders, and other readers and research users. To provide feedback, suggestions, or impressions, please email contact@unjournal.org. You can also leave anonymous feedback in this form.

Context
The Unjournal committed to compensating evaluators an average of $450 for/ complete on-time evaluations, including base compensation, bonuses, and prizes (see policies here; adjusted to $350 since August 2025).
In 2024 we awarded evaluation prizes to Phil Trammell, Hannah Metzler, Alex Bates and Robert Kubinec — see details and linked evaluations here.
In August we awarded 11 bonuses. We’ve set aside an additional $75 per evaluation towards the Evaluation Prizes. We have published 88 evaluations between Jan 2024 and Dec 2025, thus we should award $6600 in “best evaluator” prizes.
